With a nod to the past and an eye to the future, building materials were recycled wherever possible. Floorboards from the lodge made of Canadian jarrah were used to make the sliding barn doors and to frame the external door openings. Twenty thousand bricks were cleaned and recycled during the build. All the stair treads were made from timber sourced from a former rope factory.
